That's a nice attempt with the "prog" Grammys... but how come Nurse with Wound, who has been dutifully churning out record after record of neo-prog for decades, is always ignored? All the ones he mentions tend to follow the "monster rock" style of prog. TSK.

Have you ever heard a frenetic 15+ minute display of keyboard virtuosity on a NWW album? Then can we even label it a subspecies of Prog?

Mmmm... I guess not. Yeah, NWW isn't ever about virtuosity. But, still, the fabulous Nurse grew directly from the German prog we know and love so much. They even covered a Brainticket song!

There are other artists usually referred to as "industrial" that I really think of as prog. The Lemon Kittens and Legendary Pink Dots come to mind.

I have to fess up to having mixed feelings about NWW's output, with a preference for the "gentler" side. This probably stems from my getting acquainted with his/their work through Current 93's "apocalyptic folk" albums, and using those as a measuring stick. However, Soliloquy for Lillith & Salt Marie Celeste are fun-fun-fun!

I've avoided attaching the "prog" label to artier 60s/70s rock music because to me, "prog" calls to mind my oldest brother waxing his AMC Hornet while blasting ELP back in the mid-70's... gross. Perhaps someone can start Prog Nation and make prog a source of pride, rather than a source of shame. It could really use the help.
